Häfele Dialock-Compatible Hotel Key Cards
Dialock is the special case among hotel locking systems: classic generations are commonly cited with Tag-it (ISO 15693) media rather than MIFARE. Confirm the generation and media standard, then verify with test samples.

A price range is not a compatibility statement. Confirm the chip with test samples in your own locks before ordering.
Häfele’s Dialock system, used in European design hotels, spas and furniture-integrated locking, is the one major hospitality family where assuming “just MIFARE” often goes wrong. Classic Dialock generations are commonly cited with Tag-it HF transponders (ISO 15693), a different standard from the ISO 14443 MIFARE families most hotel locks read.
Newer Dialock deployments are commonly cited with MIFARE DESFire. Because the two standards are not interchangeable, Dialock properties should not order cards from a generic specification sheet. Confirm the installed generation and current credential with your Häfele partner, then test samples in your own locks and lockers before anything is printed.
Which chip does Häfele Dialock read?
Reader and credential options depend on the installed model and configuration. Confirm the specification, preparation and sample plan, then test on your encoder and representative doors before ordering.
| Lock generation | Card / chip | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Dialock generations | Tag-it HF (ISO 15693) commonly cited | Not MIFARE; a distinct HF standard. Confirm the installed media before ordering. |
| Dialock furniture locks (lockers, cabinets) | Tag-it HF (ISO 15693) commonly cited | Typically the same media family as the door locks of that era; confirm per installation. |
| Newer Dialock deployments | MIFARE DESFire, confirm per site | Encryption and application configuration are set by your system; confirm any required preparation. |
| Mixed-era estates | Confirm each reader group separately | Test the candidate media in representative doors and lockers before approving a combined order. |
What we supply for Häfele Dialock properties
- ISO 15693 (Tag-it-compatible) cards for classic Dialock sites, against a confirmed specification
- MIFARE DESFire cards for newer Dialock deployments, subject to configuration and site testing
- Key tags and fobs in the same media for spa and locker zones, tested separately
- Wooden and eco card bodies on either inlay where sample testing confirms reader performance
How verification works
- 1
Record the installed system
Find the lock and encoder model labels and ask your installer for the issuing software and current credential specification. A card photo alone does not identify security configuration.
- 2
Confirm the proposed credential
Send non-sensitive system details to sales@cardotel.com or through the inquiry form. Agree the card specification and sample purpose, availability, costs and shipping.
- 3
Test before approval
An authorized operator should issue samples and check the required doors and readers, including reissue and expiry. Agree acceptance criteria before approving the printed order.
Häfele Dialock key card questions
Do standard MIFARE cards work in Häfele Dialock locks?
Often not. Classic Dialock generations are commonly cited with Tag-it (ISO 15693) media, a different HF standard from MIFARE (ISO 14443). Newer deployments may use DESFire. Confirm the installed media with your Häfele partner and test samples before ordering.
How do we find out which Dialock generation we have?
Record the lock or terminal model, the issuing software and the current credential part number, and keep a working tag or card for reference. Share those non-sensitive details through the inquiry form or WhatsApp so a sample plan can be agreed for your hardware.
Can you supply tags for Dialock lockers and spa cabinets too?
Key tags, wristband-style media and cards can be discussed on the confirmed standard so guest rooms, lockers and spa zones can run one consistent credential set. Each reader group should be tested separately.
Are eco materials available for Dialock credentials?
Wooden, bamboo and paper bodies can be built on the appropriate inlay for many Dialock configurations. Confirm case by case with samples, since antenna geometry differs from standard MIFARE inlays and reader performance must be checked.
