Credentials for places people return to
Members judge a club by its details. A membership card that feels premium and a locker band that never fails at the sauna door are small things that compound into retention.

Member venues need two kinds of credential: a membership card that represents the club at every visit, and wet-area media — locker wristbands and fobs — that shrug off showers, saunas and pool chemistry. The two jobs pull in opposite directions, presentation versus durability, which is why most clubs order them as a matched set instead of stretching one format across both.
Access patterns differ from hotels, too: the same member returns for years, a 24/7 gym needs a door credential that lives on a keyring, and a day-spa guest needs a locker band that is issued and collected within hours. Match each population to its format first; artwork comes second.

Visible finish differences between Silver, Gold and Founder cards do quiet sales work at the front desk.
Club quantities are smaller than hotel runs; state the quantity per tier and design and get minimums confirmed in the quote rather than assumed.
Locker bands live a hard life: chlorine, sauna heat, sunscreen and hundreds of issue-and-return cycles. Silicone is the wet-area default — wipeable, reusable and available in club colors — and the wristband material comparison covers when woven or PVC makes sense instead. Whether one band both opens the locker and releases the gym door depends on the locker controllers and the access system reading the same credential, so confirm each reader with its provider and test a sample band across all of them before ordering.
On membership cards, wear shows first in the print, not the chip — and a scuffed logo presented daily at the desk undercuts a premium fee. Overlay finishes and sensible artwork placement extend the visible life; the advice in extending key card lifespan applies to member cards directly.
Visible tier differences sell upgrades without a word from staff: a Founder card that looks nothing like a monthly pass reminds everyone at the desk what the higher tier buys. Numbered guest passes and trial cards keep marketing measurable, since sequential numbering ties each pass to the campaign that issued it, and photo ID printing on staff and member cards speeds up front-desk checks at peak hours.
Silicone: within the construction’s stated limits it shrugs off chlorine and heat, wipes clean between members and can be re-issued many times. Verify those limits on a sample in your own wet areas rather than from the datasheet alone.
Post a replacement fee, deactivate the lost credential in your access software, and keep buffer stock of unprinted or generic bands so a member never waits on a reorder. Keeping the stock specification consistent between orders means replacements match the credentials already in circulation.
Cards carry branding, photo ID and tier design; fobs live on keyrings and suit unstaffed hours. Many clubs issue both against the same member record — choose by how members actually arrive: gym bag, car key or wallet.
Tell us the quantity for each design; small tier runs are common for clubs, and minimums and price breaks are confirmed in a dated quote. Printing several tiers on one card stock with different artwork is often the economical route.
