Miwa-Compatible Hotel Key Cards

The quiet giant of Asian and resort hospitality. Magstripe AL5H or RFID ALV2 — we match Miwa’s generations and verify before you commit.

Miwa Lock equips a huge share of hotels across Japan and Asia-Pacific, plus many international resorts. Its hospitality lines run from AL5H magstripe locks to ALV2 and newer RFID models — and, uniquely, some Japan-domestic installations use FeliCa rather than MIFARE® technology.

International Miwa RFID installations typically read MIFARE Classic® 1K, and AL5H magstripe locks take LoCo cards. If your property is in Japan on a FeliCa-based configuration, talk to us first — we will confirm what your system needs before quoting rather than guess.

Which chip does Miwa read?

Commonly used pairings by generation. Individual properties can differ — the final chip is always confirmed with free test samples in your own doors before production.

AL5H and related magstripe lines LoCo magstripe (300 Oe) Widespread across Asian city hotels

How verification works

  1. 1

    Identify your lock

Find the brand and model on the lock’s inside plate or battery cover, ask your installer, or simply photograph a working key card (both sides) and the lock.

  2. 2

    We match the chip

Send the details to sales@cardotel.com or through the form. We identify the chip your generation reads and assemble free test samples with the matching candidates.

  3. 3

    Your doors decide

Encode the samples on site exactly as you do today. Only after your locks confirm the reads do we print the full run — zero compatibility gambles.

Miwa key card questions

Which cards work with Miwa ALV2 locks?

International ALV2 and related RFID installations commonly read MIFARE Classic® 1K. As always, we confirm with free test samples in your own doors before production.

Our Japanese property uses FeliCa — can you supply?

FeliCa-based configurations are handled case by case. Send us your lock model and a working card; we will confirm what the system accepts and be straight with you about what we can and cannot supply.

Do you make magstripe cards for AL5H locks?

Yes — LoCo magstripe cards for AL5H and related Miwa magstripe lines, printed to your artwork, remain a standard production item.

Can artwork include Japanese text?

Yes. Our prepress team regularly sets bilingual English/Japanese layouts; send fonts outlined or let us match a reference card.
