Adel is a long-established hotel lock manufacturer, and that longevity shows in the field: magstripe floors, T5577-based 125 kHz installations and current MIFARE RFID models can all carry the Adel badge, sometimes within one property group.
Current Adel RFID locks are commonly paired with MIFARE Classic 1K (S50). Earlier generations ran T5577 (Temic-style) cards at 125 kHz, and the oldest floors used LoCo magstripe. If you are unsure which era your doors belong to, record the lock model and current card details, confirm with your installer, and test samples in your own locks before ordering.
Which chip does Adel read?
Reader and credential options depend on the installed model and configuration. Confirm the specification, preparation and sample plan, then test on your encoder and representative doors before ordering.

Find the lock and encoder model labels and ask your installer for the issuing software and current credential specification. A card photo alone does not identify security configuration.

An authorized operator should issue samples and check the required doors and readers, including reissue and expiry. Agree acceptance criteria before approving the printed order.
Adel key card questions
What cards do Adel hotel locks accept?
It depends on the era: current RFID models are commonly paired with MIFARE Classic 1K (S50), earlier generations used T5577 at 125 kHz, and the oldest floors ran LoCo magstripe. Confirm the installed reader with your installer and test samples in your own doors before production.
Our Adel locks are 15 years old. Can you still supply cards?
T5577 and LoCo magstripe cards remain standard formats. Confirm the reader and current card specification from your installer or existing stock, then test a sample on your encoder and doors before approving the order.
How do we tell T5577 from MIFARE Adel locks?
Usually not by looking; the cards are visually identical. Record the lock model, encoder and current card part number and share those non-sensitive details through the inquiry form or WhatsApp. The frequency and chip are then confirmed with samples in your own doors.
Can different buildings on one property use different Adel generations?
Yes, and it is common. List the reader and credential specification for each building so each front desk receives the right cards, clearly labelled, from a single order. Test each reader group separately.
