Luminous (Glow-in-the-Dark) PVC Cards
Photoluminescent coatings can add a glow detail to PVC cards. Brightness and afterglow depend on pigment, illumination and the finished surface.
The coating absorbs light and later emits visible light without a battery for the glow effect. It does not guarantee visibility for a fixed duration. Evaluate contrast, recharge conditions, wear and RFID performance on samples. Card decoration does not establish approval for emergency signage.

Before approving production
- Record the lock, encoder, software and credential configuration; test the finished sample on the installed system.
- Approve artwork, surface finish, dimensions and the intended handling conditions using a representative sample.

Material questions
How long will the card glow?
Afterglow depends on pigment, coating thickness, charging light and exposure time, and becomes dimmer over time. Agree a visibility criterion and review measured results and samples; no fixed duration is promised.
Does the glow effect need a battery?
Photoluminescent pigment stores light energy and releases it later, so the glow effect needs no battery. RFID operation is separate and should still be tested with the complete coating and card construction.
Can only the logo or edge glow?
A selected accent may be possible depending on the coating and print process. Approve a sample in daylight and darkness to check contrast, registration and the usable luminous area.
Can this stock be used for emergency exit signs?
A decorative card specification does not establish suitability for safety signage. Such a use needs the applicable local requirements and evidence for afterglow, visibility, installation and other required performance before approval.
